Arts Attack - Junk Music Song
Junk Song
based on Black Horse & a Cherry Tree (KT Tnustall)
Junk Song
(Based on Black Horse & a Cherry Tree (KT Tnustall)
Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo
Well my eyes looked down and they saw some things
I said "Hey baby hey, gunna make them sing!"
Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo
I saw that stuff sitting on the ground
Heaps of junk lying all around.
Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo
I kicked a can that was full of dents
I thought, that can be my instrument
Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo
CHORUS
And I said
Oh, oh, oh oh oh oh
I said
Oh, oh, we're gonna make you sing!
And I said
Oh, oh, oh oh oh oh
I said
Oh, oh, we're gonna make you sing!
I pick up a bottle and I pick up a pipe
And put them together – oh so tight.
Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo
I grabbed my hammer and I grabbed some nails,
My teacher said, "You cannot fail."
Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo
Gonna make some music, gunna make it LOUD,
Gonna make my myself Oh so PROUD
Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo
Gonna move a little here, gunna shake a little there
Gonna blow and rattle - EVERYwhere.
Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo, Woo Hoo
CHORUS
And I said
Oh, oh, oh oh oh oh
I said
Oh, oh, we're gonna make you sing!
And I said
Oh, oh, oh oh oh oh

Arts Attack - Drum Roll
Not bad for a first effort.
We all managed to make a drum. Victor and Nadia sawed up aluminium pipe into different lengths to make a celestial chime. They will make a frame for it in the next day or two. Meanwhile, Carter has shown he has a remarkable ability to blow a trumpet. The 20mm electrical conduit piping was a perfect match for his size and showed his wonderful embouchure (lip shape for blowing).
Harry and Marcel will make fine Morris dancers one day. Good work with the bottle tops guys.
Tomorrow we add the guitar. Let's see if a wilder rhythm starts happening.
What was the best part of the day for you?

Room 20's Inquiry Topics
Room 20, you've given yourselves some really challenging areas to investigate: bioluminescent blooms, aurora (Northern Lights) ad Brinicls. The Padlet you have created gives your whole class plenty of material to get started with.
Please comment at the bottom of this post:
Room 20 is a mainly Year 5 class.
Please comment at the bottom of this post:
- Which part of the Padlet-making task was best and which part was challenging?
- Which person in the class had the most interesting notes and websites and why did you find them interesting?

Room 16's Inquiry - Space
Room 16, your task was to find the best web pages you could about space. You were asked to post them onto the Padlet Wall and to write a note for each web page you found. Your note had to tell us something interesting you discovered on that web page. You had to create a note that had your Main Point.
Please comment

Icy Tea makes my brain freeze
This is where the kids in my ICT classes get to practice transforming ICT skills into real learning back in their 'real' classes.
I'm not that interested in technology because it's there - I am only interested in using the fantastic web tools to transform our learning.
An ICT class is really a misfit and doesn't suit how kids think about technology. This is a journal to record the shift in our school from a stand-alone ICT class to a fully integrated e-Learning pedagogy.
Enjoy the ride. Let's see where I'll get to.
